I am writing to share some exciting news: I am officially running for San Mateo City Council to represent District 3!

My family put down roots in San Mateo in 2013, drawn by its walkable neighborhoods, beautiful weather, and perfect location at the heart of the region. Over the last 12 years, we’ve raised our two children here, built a community, and fallen in love with this city.

But I also see the challenges we face. I’ve seen friends and neighbors forced to move away due to skyrocketing housing costs. I’ve worried about the safety of our streets after seeing too many close calls with traffic. And I know we can do more to prepare our infrastructure for a changing climate.

I’m running because I believe San Mateo should be a place where everyone can thrive.

I’m not a career politician—I’m a problem solver.

  • As a mother and entrepreneur, I know how to balance budgets and get things done.

  • As a Planning Commissioner, I’ve done the hard work of navigating complex housing and development decisions.

  • As the founder of Safe Streets for Everyone, I didn’t just talk about safety—I organized neighbors to deliver real results.

With the support of local leaders, I want to bring that experience to the City Council to fight for a San Mateo that is affordable, safe and sustainable.

This campaign will be powered by neighbors like you, not special interests. Can I count on you to join #TeamSeema today?

Whether you can chip in $25, display a yard sign, or just share this email with a friend in District 3—I am so honored to have you on this journey with me.

Let’s move San Mateo forward, together!
